I just heard about Marc my deepest condolences to all that knew him. I went to school and grew up with Marc in Roblin. Marc was a great friend team player in anything he did will be miss greatly

Our nephew, Marc, gave us a tour of his office and the Vancouver skyline in 2024. His anecdotes and the hospitality of the whole family made it a trip we will always cherish. Rest in peace, Marilyn and Marc.

Our heartfelt condolences to the whole family. While distance prevented us from spending more time together, we will always cherish the time we had. You were such great hosts in 2024, and Marc was an amazing tour guide. We always enjoyed Marc's sense of humour and ability to talk about everything, especially the bear stories.  While we kept in touch over the years, it never seemed quite enough. He will remain in a special place in our hearts.

It seems so surreal to be writing about the loss of Marc. Words are inadequate. Memories from cuddling a tiny baby to the last hugs after his Mum’s funeral. The little boy who loved dinosaurs and rocks never lost that thirst for knowledge. Marc found his path in life and he achieved so much in the time he was given, and he related his adventures, both foreign and domestic, with great humour. Marc’s intellect and wit and his calm and kind persona are greatly missed.

Marc was a proud and involved family man and leaves his family with a wealth of experiences shared. His passing is an immense loss for Amara, Sofia, Malcolm, Benjamin and Harv and Lisa, as well as extended family and friends.

These photos are from one of Marc’s last field trips, the only one with me, in Newfoundland. We talked nonstop and laughed the whole time; he was truly one of the funniest people I’ve worked with. He’ll be deeply missed. My heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones.

My deepest condolences on Marc's passing. We were long distance friends and did business together. I got to meet him last October at the Burlington Ontario convention and enjoyed a great conversation with him. RIP my friend.

I am so sad to hear about Marc passing.  Even though our paths crossed only every few years (usually in the grocery store at 6 pm); he will always stand out to me as the fun, relaxed, easygoing, intelligent and genuine person I remember in highschool (Grad 1987).  Marc had a way of making people feel comfortable.  He was far too young, and I am truly sorry for your loss.

Though words escape me that could possibly provide adequate solace to Marc’s family, I will try. I offer you my deepest condolences on the loss of a son, brother, husband, father and friend to so many. Marc was truly a rare gem in a world that seems too often to promote apathy and callousness.  He was the polar opposite of heartlessness.  He exuded empathy, kindness and the human traits we should all try to replicate. It is no secret, he was very intelligent but without arrogance.  He had a quick wit and fantastic sense of humour. Though our paths have not crossed in many, many years, family memories from Christmases and holidays visiting Uncle Harv and Aunt Marilyn’s home still hold a special spot in my heart. Though we travelled in different circles, we did briefly connect when we were both in Vancouver in the early 90s.  We did share some common music interests and if memory serves me, we checked out a ska band in Vancouver. He was also there for a going away party, as I left Vancouver to live in Victoria.  Whenever I see anything about dinosaurs, I always think of Marc.  I remember how fascinated he was at a very young age about paleontology.  I also share a love of rocks and when I find my next cool stone to bring home, I will fondly remember Marc. Wishing all that had the fortune to know Marc, peace and time for healing, fond memories and comfort in Marc’s love that remains always in your hearts.

I was stunned to hear the news of Marc's passing and would like to extend condolences to Amara and family.  I have known Marc since high school. He was a regular visitor at our house sharing an interest with my father Len in model railroading.  I made a few trips with Marc out to take photos when I was in high school of trains.  Every Christmas you would look forward to a visit from him as he always had a new book to drop off for us for us to have a look at.  My parents really enjoyed hearing his stories of his geological trips Mom often mentioning how much Marc reminded her of Marilyn in his kindness.  A terrible loss, my condolences to the entire Simpson and Garcia families.

I have always felt a strong connection to my cousin Mark despite our distance and time limits of regular life.  I think of the many Christmas gatherings at the farm that would conclude with a family slide show.  As little kids we would eagerly wait to see whose picture in each slide had the reddest pupils and burst into laughter at the announce of the adults in the room.  I always admired Mark’s thirst for knowledge, while I was busy reading comics he seemed to be nose deep into the encyclopedia Britannica.   He had many passions and interests, Halloween and trains immediately come to mind.  So great full that he took the time to post and share videos.  Amara, Anna Sofia, Malcolm, Benjamin, uncle Harve and Lisa you are loved and we share in your grief.   Ken, Jill and family.

I will never forget the last time I spent quality time with Marc and how much I was impressed by his kindness and courage that came though his stories of adventures as a geologist in the bush.   We were in an Uber on our way to the Montreal Airport stuck in a massive traffic jam during a tornado warning.  He must have seen the horror in my eyes from the darkness around us and the pounding rain, so he started sharing great soties of his multiple bear encounters and other wilderness adventures. That was such a welcome distraction and I remember we were laughing so much at one point. I was so fortunate to be with such a wonderful human being at that moment.

My condolences to Marc's family! I hope that the fun memories of life spent with him will help you though these difficult times of pain and loss.
