Marc Everett Simpson

A dedicated husband, father, brother, son, and involuntary bear magnet, Marc, 56, passed away peacefully in Vancouver on April 22, 2026 with family at his side. Marc is survived by his wife Amara Garcia, daughter Sofia, sons Malcolm and Benjamin, sister Lisa, father Harvey, and many, many, relatives & friends. He was predeceased by his mother, E. Marilyn Simpson.

Originally from Roblin, Manitoba, Marc studied geology at the University of Manitoba and moved to the Lower Mainland in the mid ‘90’s. During his career as a geologist, Marc travelled extensively, and collected many experiences which he shared with others. He moved to Coquitlam with his family in 2010.

Marc was an avid gardener, photographer, published writer, and passionate railroad modeler. He is remembered for his calm, gentle nature, kindness, sharp wit, intelligence, leadership, and bear stories.

A celebration of his life will take place at 11:00 am on Friday, June 12, 2026 at Burkeview Memorial Services, 1340 Dominion Ave., Port Coquitlam, BC. Light refreshments will follow.
