Moira Elizabeth Severson

April 22, 1961 – July 5, 2026

Daughter, Sister, Aunt, Wife, Mother and Grandmother. It is with deep sadness we announce our Moira’s passing. She is lovingly remembered and profoundly missed by her surviving children, Travis (Carlee) and Jakob (Hayley), her sisters Wendy (Kelly) and Ailsa (John), nieces, Kelly and Elizabeth, nephew, Spencer (Chelsea), grandchildren, Henley and Jack and husband Carl. Moira is predeceased by her Dad, Victor and Mother, Elizabeth.

Retiring after 40-years of service with BC-Tel, Moira was soon met with her unfortunate diagnosis. The stubborn disease was difficult to diagnose, despite routine check-ups. If not for her education, diligence, and perseverance, her life-extending treatment would not have begun. Moira courageously fought a 10 year breast cancer battle with the support of her Oncology team, never rejecting any chemotherapy, radiation or oral medication treatments. Despite Moira’s terminal diagnosis, “Tiger” (Moira’s nickname from her dad), soldiered on. Moira remained very active - avid bike rider, paddler winning multiple medals with the “Moody Brews” and “Abreast in A Boat” teams, hiking local Tri-City trails and being the best wife, mother & grandmother ever! Family & friends have been blessed to have Moira’s shining light of positivity and love with us all these precious years. Our loved one and friend is now a beautiful star in the sky, watching over us, guiding us, and sending us her deepest love.

A Celebration of Life (cut far too short) will be held at the Wellness Room at the Port Moody Recreation Complex on Sunday, July 26, 2026 from 2:30-4:30pm.

Everyone knows how much Moira loved her garden, plants, and flowers. In lieu of sending flowers, we ask you to consider planting a tree in Moira’s memory or donate to the Crossroads Hospice in Port Moody where Moira was comforted and cared for during her most challenging days.
