Monica Rose Stachoski

Monica Rose Stachoski (nee Baumgartner) passed away peacefully on March 8th, 2026, at the age of 81 on a beautiful sunny afternoon at The George Derby Centre Burnaby BC, surrounded by her loving family.

Monica was born the fourth child to Jacob and Mary Baumgartner on February 26th, 1945. Monica was raised in the Catholic faith, received a Catholic education, was very active in the CYO at St. Peter's before completing her education graduating at Port Coquitlam High in 1963. Monica married Jim Heisler in 1967, bore two children, and is survived by Jim, daughter Laura (Dave), son Kevin, brother Gerome, sister Rhonda, granddaughter Kaleigh, grandsons Tyler and Nolan, stepsons Mark, Dale, Kevin, their spouses, and grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, Jacob and Mary, husband Bruce, and siblings Bertha and Bridgit.

Monica worked in various clerical positions over the years before retiring from Riverview Hospital accounts department. Monica was extremely family-oriented, her immediate and extended family meant everything to her. Annual family parties/reunions were enjoyed by many at their property on Sayers Crescent.

Monica was an avid bowler who also enjoyed trips to the casino, locally and across the line with her husband Bruce. She loved children, and showed kindness and compassion to all; she gave generously to many charities.

Monica wore many titles: daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, sweetest friend. But her greatest legacy was the love she wove through every generation.

In lieu of flowers a memorial donation to The Variety Show of Hearts Children's Charity would be appreciated.

A Prayer Service will be held at Our Lady of the Assumption, 3141 Shaughnessy St, Port Coquitlam, BC, V3B 4L3, CA, on March 17, 2026, from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm.

A Funeral Service will take place at Our Lady of the Assumption, 3141 Shaughnessy St, Port Coquitlam, BC, V3B 4L3, CA, on March 18, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.

A Committal Service will follow at Port Coquitlam Cemetery, 4150 Oxford St, Coquitlam, BC, V3B 2T3, CA, on March 18, 2026, from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm.
