We are sad to announce the passing of our Mom, Pamela (Pam) Patterson. She is predeceased by her husband Allan in 2011. As well as her 2 sisters; Beverly & Shirley, and one brother Dennis. Leaving behind two surviving sisters, her twin Patrica, and younger sister Daryl, and sister-in-law Norma. She is survived by her four children: Donna (Doug), Penny(Jim), Patrick, and Scott (Christina), and her grandchildren Benjy(Jenn), Kristy, James(Francine), Charlene(Jon), Samantha, & Lyric. Also, 5 great-grandchildren. Her great-grandchildren referred to as Gramma Happy or GG. She was loved by her many nieces & nephews, and many good friends.
Mom was born in Nelson, BC, the fourth of six siblings. Growing up in Salmo, she met our dad as a teenager in the Overwaitea store and fell in love. When Dad moved to Vancouver, Mom went to nursing school in Victoria, with her twin sister. They graduated nursing school in May 1956, and Mom & Dad were married shortly after and lived in Burnaby most of her their lives.
Mom was all about family. Any out of town cousins who need a place to stay or live for a while, she welcomed with open arms. We had many summer vacations with our relatives every summer growing up. Mom and Dad loved curling, and she even played in the Scotties Tournament Champions. And she went to Scotland to watch the world championship of curling. She loved watching sports, the Canucks, the Lions, golf and any curling that’s was on TV. She also enjoyed a good crib game, and the casinos.
We would like to thank the wonderful, caring staff at the Astoria Retirement Home.
To the Doctors and nurses at Eagle Ridge hospital, who tried to help her with her pain, thank-you.
Lastly, there is not enough we can say about the amazing people at Crossroad Hospice.
A Celebration of life will be held on Friday, November 8, 2024, 2:00 pm at the Grand Villa Hotel in Burnaby, BC
Please contact one of the family members to advise if you will be attending.
