It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of William G. Lealess on December 26th, 2022 at Hawthorne Senior Care Community. He was surrounded by his loving family the last few days of his battle with Parkinson’s disease. He will forever be remembered for his love of family and friends. His contagious smile and laugh will live on in our hearts.
William was born in Vancouver on May 15th, 1937. He resided in Vancouver and became a sheet metal worker by trade. He dedicated his life to raising a family. William was a true outdoorsman spending many weekends exploring the interior of BC hunting and fishing. Some of his best times were spent at his campground at Furry Creek venturing out on the water. He was a well-known member of the community having coached several sports teams over the years. Later in life he discovered a love of golf and spent much of his time at the local courses, he could always be heard jingling the change in his pocket on the 18th green. He was beloved by all who met him.
He is survived by his wife, Marguerite Lealess of 63 years, his kids Tammy Davey, William Lealess, Teresa (Scott) Beckett, Rodney (Chantal) Lealess, his grandchildren Ryan, Jarad, Amber, Amanda, Brandon, Dylan, Hailee, Madison, Korben and his great-grandchildren Quintin and Jocelyn, his sibling Robert (Joanne) Lealess along with their children Deanne (Bill) Caverley and Karen Close.
In lieu of flowers, please donate in his name to the Parkinson's Society of British Columbia.
May the road rise up to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sunshine warm upon your face,
And the rain fall soft upon your fields,
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the hollow of his hand.
