Betty J. Hoover

Kirkwood: Betty J. Hoover, age 72, of Kirkwood, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, January 16, 2012. In addition to her parents, James & Mildred (Crawford) Hoover, Betty was also predeceased by her brother, William Hoover, and special aunt, Annabelle Everette. Betty is survived by her loving family: children, Marta Sperry of Conklin, Richard Berlin of Endwell, Brenda & Joseph Seider of Stuyvesant, NY, Rose & Alan Welch of W. Windsor; grandchildren, Christopher Sperry, Natasha Mosier, Michael Berlin, Joseph Seider, Rachael Seider, Crystal Welch; great grandchildren, Taylir Sodan & Madeleine Legas; aunt, Alice Buscurini; brother, Edward & Dawn Hoover; sister-in-law, Jean Hoover; also several nieces and nephews and many special friends. Betty was a retiree of New York State after many years of service. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to tell stories. She was also an avid NY Giants fan. She was very fond of the luncheons she would attend with the ladies from the Harpursville High School Alumni. Betty loved her family most of all; she will be dearly missed by many. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday evening, January 19, 2012 at 6:00 PM at the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango St., Port Dickinson, NY 13901. Burial will be in the Sanateria Springs Cemetery in the spring. Family and friends are welcome to the funeral home on Thursday from 2:00-6:00 PM. A final word from Betty: "I'm a card carrying democrat."
