

Betty V. Stenson, 88, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, December 14, 2017 surrounded by her family. Betty was born in Binghamton to the late Reginald and Alice Haycook. She spent her life in the Binghamton and Conklin area where she was known as a creative person recreating photos in cross stitch. She also made her own greeting cards for family and friends, with each card being created specifically for the person or situation. She was a longtime fan of Jeff Gordon and once had the opportunity to meet him personally. Betty loved the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as the shopping trips she took with her daughter, Susan and was blessed with a trip to the Mall of America for her 70th birthday. For 35 years, Betty was a faithful attendee of the Little White Church in Conklin. Betty is survived by her husband of 68 years, William "Ed" Stenson; her daughter, Susan and Richard Andrascik; her grandchildren, Brandon and Valerie Andrascik, and Kristin and Kevin Griffiths; her great-grandchildren, Aria, Zachary, and Jacob; her brother, Richard Haycook; her sister in law, Marjorie and Dale Russell, and many nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her parents, Betty was predeceased by her brother, Reginald Haycook. A funeral service for Betty will take place at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, December 20, at Little White Church, 1049 Conklin Rd. with Pastor Tim Easley officiating. Burial will follow at Conklin Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 pm until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, donations in Betty's memory may be made to Little White Church Betty Stenson Memorial Missions Fund.
