Cora Lee Scism

of Johnson City, 57, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 24, 2013 surrounded by her family. She was predeceased by her parents, Merrill and Nancy Myers. She is survived by her loving husband of 11 1/2 years, Roger C. Scism; children, Daniel and Tina Scism, Gloria and Jim McGarity, Sharon Scism and Rachel Scism; grandchildren, Jessica, Rebecca, Eli, Amanda and Charlie; sister, Kandi and Robert Greene Sr., nephews, Robert and Andrea Greene Jr. and Travis Greene; great niece, Alexandra, close cousin, Laurie and Ray Arnold; several other caring cousins. Corky was a graduate of the Marathon Christian Academy, class of one in 1975 where she went on to be a MCA teacher for over 20 years. She was extremely active in the community by serving on the Marathon EMT, president of the Marathon Library board, waitressing at Kathy's Diner, working at the Discovery Center and Ross Park Zoo and being involved in the Path of Life Camp for several summers of which she held many titles. She worked as a nurses aide thorughout Binghamton General hospital, Pearson Professional Center in Endicott where she was a lead test administrator. Corky was a member of the Park Avenue Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher and AWANA leader and helped with many events. She will be remembered for talents, crafts, cooking reading and scrapbooking. A graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family.
