Dorie was born in 1950 in Buffalo, New York and was raised in East Aurora, New York, and Oceanside, Long Island, graduating in 1968 from Oceanside High School. Dorie devoted most of her time after graduation raising her two sons, Judson and Rick with her first husband Daniel Seymour (Kathy), in Candor, New York. Her boys were the apples of her eyes!! Dorie met Jim in 1999 and married in Sept 2000 spending 23 years together. Dorie was an avid NY Yankees and NY Giants fan growing up, following in her mom and dads footsteps. She did convert to being a Mets fan later in life after watching game after game with Jim. She also became a huge New Jersey Devils fan at the urging of her son Judd. The best times she had was spending time with her family and friends. Her smile always lit up when the family and grandchildren came to visit.
Dorie was the most caring person, always being more concerned about how everyone else was doing, more than herself. Her smile lit up a room when she walked in. If you were ever in need she would always be there for you, no matter what the cost. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
We would like to give a special thanks to: Michele Torsiello, her best friend Christine Thetga, who helped us so much with her care in her final days.
Per Dorie’s request there will be no calling hours. A celebration of her life will be at a later date.
In Dories own words “I feel fine”.
Dorie, you will forever “Be my home”.
