Edwin F. Puglisi

Edwin F. Puglisi, 82, of Vestal, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 10, 2016. He was predeceased by his parents, loving wife, Loretta; son, Michael; siblings, Richard, Robert & Shirley, Bernard and Joann. He is survived by his daughters, Michelle Donlon, Debra & Micheal DeGroat Sr; grandchildren, Tracy & Jeremy Schmerder, Shelly & Bryon Bartow, Travis & Lisa Maus, Kaitlyn & Steven Safranek, Nathan Maus, Ashley & Andrew Brown, Micheal DeGroat Jr.; great-grandchildren, Madison, Kole, Brianna, Lucas, Lorelai, Norah; brother, Donald & Roberta Puglisi; sister, Dian & Tony Fabian; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Puglisi; brother-in-law, Larry Malinowski; special cousin, Mary Ann; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Ed proudly served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. He attended Broome Tech and graduated from Albany State in 1964 where he earned his Masters in Business Administration. He began his career at IBM and left when his part time job became his full time business. He then started Puglisi Tax Service where he prepared taxes and managed accounts for many small businesses. He loved his work and his clients. Whether you knew him as a friend, coach, or tax preparer- all would agree he was a man of integrity who was fearless, strong, caring and compassionate. His was a life well-lived. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, April 15, 2016 at St. Vincent De Paul Church, Vestal. Burial will follow in the Ingraham Hill Cemetery in the family plot. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 14, 2016 from 4-7 pm at Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickinson. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ed's memory to the Michael F. Puglisi Scholarship Fund, checks made out to the Dollars for Scholars Program, C/O Puglisi Tax Service, 164 N. Jensen Road, Vestal, NY 13850.
