John A. Carnese passed away peacefully at 94 years of age on May 2, 2013. He was predeceased by his wife Nancy (Rinaldi) Carnese, his parents, John and Angelina; sisters, Nellie Liparulo and Rose Carnese; brothers, Michael and Joseph. He is survived by his daughter, Angela and son-in-law, James Nestrick; sister, Mary Carnese; sisters-in-law, Anna Ragard, Jo Palombaro, and Doris Carnese; several nieces and nephews; many close friends including Denny O’Brien, Joe Yannuzzi, Larry Davis, Jim Vetrino and Jim Pace. He was an avid Yankee baseball and New York Giants football fan, loved his daily walks at the mall with his walking buddies, and the gambling bus trips with Doc. John was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church and a retired employee of Singer-Link with 33 years of service. He was a veteran of the Army Air Force in WW II serving with the 56th Fighter Group – Zenke Wolfpack stationed in England. He was a member of the VFW Post 478.
Funeral Services will be conducted Monday, May 6, 2013 at 8:45 AM from the James V. DeMarco & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickinson, NY and 9:30 AM in St. Mary of the Assumption Church where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at the DeMarco & Son funeral Home Sunday from 4 – 7 PM. Please consider memorial contributions in John’s memory to St. Mary of the Assumption Church.
