John R. Jones III

John passed away unexpectedly on March 6, 2012 at the age of 46.He was predeceased by his father, John R. Jones, Jr.; brothers, Philip and Ronald; paternal grandparents, John, Sr. and Mary Jones; maternal grandparents, Joseph and Mary Hurchla; aunts, Doddie Evans and Mary Schatz. He is survived by his loving mother, Elizabeth P. Finch; sisters and brother-in-law, Denise (Jeff) Soules and Angela Reed; four nieces, Jenise Soules, Joelle (Justin) Bennett, Laura Reed, Renee’ Jones and one nephew, Jeremy Jones; stepfather, Robert E. Finch; loving aunts, Beatrice Jones and Sue Galligan; many other family members. John loved the Yankees, hot dogs and Santa Claus (Ho Ho). In his own special way he brought joy to everyone he knew. The family wishes to thank the staff at Broome Developmental Center, IRA’s on Diane Drive and Jamie Avenue for John’s care, especially Walter.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Monday, March 12, 2012 at 3:00 PM at the James v. DeMarco & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickinson, NY. Visitation will be at the Funeral Home on Monday from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers please consider a monetary contribution in John’s name to your local police departments Toys for Tots Foundation.
