Kevin Kilker, born August 18, 1971, aka Kevin the Man, went to be in the arms of the Lord and his parents Shirley Anne Kilker (2022)and Patrick Edward Kilker (2018) on August 4, 2024. Kevin Kilker was born a normal and healthy boy up to the age of 5 when a combination of medicines changed him forever. He grew up in Windsor, NY and attended school where he defied everyone as he learned to read and write. He attended school up to the 8th grade. For the last 27 years he lived in a group home in Owego and went to a day program for work. He loved his family and looked forward to his regular "vacations" to his family home. Kevin was a very outgoing and happy man who loved God, Church, people, Red Lobster, diet soda, singing, dancing, music, his favorite movies, tv shows and a good nap. He was an avid reader and a master puzzle builder. Kevin had a tremendous memory and sense of direction. Kevin looked forward to every holiday especially his birthday and this year was no different. Kevin would like to be included in all conversations and made sure to tell his story to whoever would listen. He commanded the room and entertained as he spoke. Kevin was never shy and he would introduce himself to everyone. He would often sing as loud as he wanted and made sure you were paying attention. He was brilliant in his own way and had his personal sayings that were insightful. His words carried a joy that matched his massive personality. Kevin loved unconditionally and was generous. He loved to swim and looked forward to it. He was fearless and strong and enjoyed many competitions as a member of the Special Olympics. Kevin was 6 years old when he first was in the local paper for running a 100m race. That picture captured him perfectly. His smile was infectious as well as his laugh. Despite his challenges he led a great life and he affected everyone he came in contact with. Every person that met him would be able to share an endearing story about him, ultimately leaving them with a smile on their face and a lasting memory. He was simple but complex but he was Kevin the Man and he was proud to say it. He was always and will always be Good and Great. He leaves behind many that will be proud to say that Kevin knew them. Kevin would always say "yep he/she remembers me." Kevin will never be forgotten. He is survived by his 3 brothers, Michael B. Kilker, Patrick J. Kilker, and Andrew J. Kilker. Many uncles, aunts, cousins, grand cousins, a niece, nephews, and his best friend since childhood Douglas O'Dell.
