Robert C. Bertram

Robert C. Bertram, 86, passed away at home surrounded by family on Wednesday, February 24, 2016. Robert was predeceased by his loving wife, Jane (Ward) of 53 years; parents, John and Mary; brother, William; sister, Elizabeth; in-laws, Oscar and Mary Ward; Buddy and best friend, Fritz Lander. He is survived by his sister, Beverly Preston; five children and their spouses, Gary Bertram, Kim and William Wrighter, Dawn and Michael Pesko, Ronald and Kristen Bertram, Kathy and George Leatso Jr.; eight grandchildren, Laura, DeEtta, Scott, William Benjamin, Emily, Joshua, and Bethany; eight great-grandchildren, Heaven, Scotty, William, Dream, Neja, Sky, Harley and Calliope. Robert served in the US Army and retired from GAF with 43 years of service as a senior buyer. Robert enjoyed time spent with his family, hunting, fishing, and mowing. A special thank you to Dr. Welsh, Whitney and Father Mark Giroux for all their compassion and understanding to Bob and his family. A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 29, 2016 at 10:00 am at the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickinson. Burial with Military honors will follow in Chenango Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3-5 pm on Sunday, February 28 at the funeral home.
