Binghamton: Robert B. Landon went to be with the Lord on August 6, 2012. He was born on July 26, 1931 in Batavia, NY to Donald and Martha Landon. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Betty J. Landon; his sons, Steven Landon, and David and Cindy Landon; his grandsons, Joseph and Sherene Landon, and Nathan and Shelley Landon; his great-grandchildren, Tyler, Jaidyn, Zachary; his sister, Ann and Douglas Perfitt; along with several nieces and nephews. Robert served his country in the U.S. army during the Korean War, and was a longtime member of the American Legion Post 1645. He enjoyed gardening, candle making, the 55 seasons spent camping at Kring Point in the Thousand Island region. Robert also was very interested in bluegrass music, especially the music of Chet Atkins. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 9, 2012, at Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango St., Port Dickinson, with Rev. Daniel Baker officiating.
