Alan Ross Handle

Alan Ross Handle, of Miller Place, NY, passed away on October 2, 2024, just days shy of his 77th birthday. Born on October 5, 1947, in Camden, NJ, Alan lived a life filled with love, adventure, and dedication to his family.

Alan was the cherished husband of Margaret for 52 years, and together they created a warm and nurturing home. He is survived by his loving daughters, Cristin Weeks and her husband Joseph, Kimberly Meehan and her husband Tres, and his son Jarad and his wife Alyssa Devlopoulos-Handle. He is also the proud grandfather of Joseph, Alannah, and Erin Weeks, as well as Kennedy and Ned Meehan. Alan was predeceased by his infant son, Robert Alan.

A man of many passions, Alan found joy in working in his yard, tending to his garden, and spending time fishing. He had a love for adventure, often riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and traveling to beautiful destinations like Mexico, Aruba, and Ireland with Margaret. His spirit was one of constant motion—never one to sit still, he embraced life with an energetic and hands-on approach.

Though he was a serious and quiet man, Alan's favorite moments were always spent with his family. He found immense joy in watching his grandchildren play and swim poolside, creating cherished memories that will last a lifetime.

Alan will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family and the many ways he enriched their lives. His legacy of hard work, love, and dedication will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

A visitation for Alan will be held on Monday, October 7, 2024 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at O. B. Davis Funeral Homes, 4839 Nesconset Highway, Port Jefferson Station, NY 11776. Prayer service Tuesday at 10 AM at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Calverton National Cemetery, 210 Princeton Boulevard, Calverton, New York 11933.
