Bernard was the beloved husband of 72 years to his late wife, Dolores, with whom he shared a lifetime of love, partnership, and family. He was the loving father of Bernard, William (Laura), Beverly Mason (Joe), Barbara Bellissimo (John) and John (Barbara).
He was the adored grandfather of Bill and Kevin Scurry, Mark and Mary Mason, John Bellissimo (Ashtyn), Michael Bellissimo (Amanda), Christina Bellissimo, Krystal Pierce and the late Madison Reynolds. Bernard was also the cherished great-grandfather of John, Jordan, Jace, and Michael Bellissimo Jr.
Bernard was the dear brother of Ronald, and was predeceased by his siblings Edward, Irene Reagen, Gerard, Norman, Francis and Norbert Reynolds.
Bernard proudly served our nation in the Korean War but above all else, Bernard loved his family. He and Dolores spent their earlier years traveling together throughout the Northeast, to the Grand Canyon, and to Las Vegas—creating treasured memories along the way. A true sports enthusiast, he enjoyed cheering on the New York Yankees and the New York Jets. Bernard was also known for his dedication to working with his hands; he was always busy around his home and took great pride in helping his children with building projects and improvements on their own homes.
Bernard will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his generosity, his steady presence, and the quiet strength with which he touched the lives of all who knew him.
