Liz was born in Germany and moved to the United States when she was 10 years old. She resided in Queens, NY and met her husband, Dennis while in high school. They moved out to Long Island and picked a home in Mt Sinai because they loved the tree lined streets. It was in that home where they raised their daughters and made a lifetime of happy memories.
She was someone who exemplified strength, optimism, selflessness, and kindness. Despite her physical disability, she adapted and moved forward without ever complaining. Liz always focused on what she could do and she never on what she could not do. She engaged the simple pleasures in life. Sitting in her backyard overlooking her garden with either a cup of coffee or a glass of Riesling was on the top of her list. She enjoyed spending holidays together and being involved in all the preparations. She loved caring for her family, her pets and home.
We will miss you always.
Elisabeth is survived by her husband Dennis, daughters Denise (Keith) and Kristin (Simon), 5 grandchildren, father Norman McKay, and brother James McKay.
“If I could plant a flower for every time I miss you, I could walk through my garden forever.”
