Oh Lewis.

We met almost 62 years ago, at Grey Advertising as coworkers and we were off and running along side each other.
You asked me to drive the BIG truck with all your belongings to your new house in Commack. I asked you to translate the letters that my Hungarian grandma wrote to me and I asked if I can visit with your family on lonely Sundays. And throughout the years we would reciprocate back and forth. One year, when I was caught short staffed at my tax business, and you were caught in one of those industry shifts that destroys careers and lives, when the rug was pulled from under you and the profession that you mastered so well over the years, was eliminated industry wide. And together we leaped forward into the tax preparation business. you became a master of taxation and a sought after tax preparer. In your own and unique way, competent and friendly, you went about interviewing and untangling the clients’ records and taxes. And year after year, it was Lew that everyone asked for, to do their taxes.
And then came the day that you announced, that is it, you are retiring.

Retired but not forgotten.

Every year they would ask for Lew, and in the ensuing years, they would ask, “how is Lew? Please give him my regards.”

Lew, you made your mark!

So I will stick around, for just one more tax season, so we can close the chapter and I will tell them that Lew took his last voyage.

We have so many lovely memories of Evy and Lou spending time with us on their many visits to England. 
We will miss our dear cousin Lou and how he used to reminisce on his Hungarian life stories.
We are sending our deepest sympathy to Evy, Terri and Lewis and we will especially be thinking of you all during Lou’s funeral service on Monday 17 November.
In loving memory, gone but not forgotten. You are at peace now Lou.

I have such warm & happy memories of Uncle Lou. A wonderful man, with such spirit and sense of humour. A great friend to my Dad who always enjoyed his company!
Growing up, we always enjoyed his frequent trips to England with Aunty Eve. Uncle Lou always took an interest in what you were doing and how you were. 
We will miss him greatly.
Our sincerest condolences go out to Lewis & Terri and, of course,  Aunty Eve. We're so sorry we can't be with you in person but you will all be in our thoughts.
