

Mary was born on October 28, 1932 in Bronx New York, & grew up in Woodside, Queens. Beloved daughter to the late Mary and Charlie McCartin. She was the oldest of four children, two preceded her in death. Mary was educated in William Cullen Bryant High School in Astoria, New York and LaGuardia Community College in New York.
Mary married the late Dan Gardner in 1966. She started working at Squibb Int. in 1950, that was later bought by Revlon. She lived in Queens, NY while she worked for Revlon as an Executive Assistant. She later moved to Port Jefferson, NY to be close to her brother and sister. Mary retired in 1996, proudly working for 46 years in New York her favorite City. Mary was a devout Catholic, spent most of her retirement volunteering to visit the sick & elderly of the community. Serving her community and helping others was always a part of her life for as long as she could till her health prevented her to do so.
Mary loved to read, do crossword puzzles, spending time with family, sitting on the beach, laughing and always wearing a smile on her face. She was a loving and caring person devoted wife, sister, stepmother, aunt, grandmother and friend, always thinking of others first.
Mary is survived by her sister, Eileen Lynch, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, grandchildren, cousins and friends.

A private burial will be held for her immediate family at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
