Michael J. Ponella

Michael J. Ponella, age 94, of Port Jefferson Station, New York, on Tuesday, May 30, 2023. He was a proud Korean War veteran having faithfully served the United States Army. Michael had several passions and interests that included billiards, golf and he considered himself an avid bowler. He even played on the Prudential softball team up until retirement. His most famous talent was his ability to carry a tune and he sang in many clubs during those years of service to his country. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Survived by his loving wife, Louise. Beloved dad to Michael (Josephine), Ronald (Lyn) and Debra Dito (Michael). Cherished Poppy to Jason, Michael (Nicole), Justin, Laina (Anthony), Jesse and Marissa (Jordan). Devoted great-grandpa to Emily Grace, Liana Michelle and Michael Stephen.

A visitation for Michael will be held Thursday, June 1, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at O.B. Davis Funeral Homes, 4839 Nesconset Hwy, Port Jefferson Station, New York 11776. A funeral service will occur Friday, June 2, 2023 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Calverton National Cemetery, 210 Princeton Boulevard, Calverton, New York 11933.
