Joan we have never met but i grew up with Peter on Fenimore St,... knew the entire Azzaretti family...we lost contact as my family moved from Valley Stream in 1967...Peter and i reconnected like so many via facebook several years ago...he was a GREAT person when i knew him in the 50's and 60's and that apparently never changed. I was deeply saddened to read of his passing today, we were in contact with each other in early September...I hope it brings you some comfort knowing what a wonderful friend and human being Peter was. I just found out about Peter.  My condolences to his family.  I fondly remember Peter in Pittsburgh as we were both Pfizer Sales representatives.  He taught me so much about the business and was someone I could lean on when I needed some guidance.  Very fond memories over the 3 years we worked together.   

While we weren't blood related, I always considered Peter family due to my best friend status with his sister, Nancy . He was considerate, witty, had a deep love for his family and always had a kind word to share. He is surely a gentleman to be proud to know and love. It won't be the same without him. Sending love and comfort to all who knew and loved him.  Rest easy, Peter.

I knew Pete through our high school career. Pete was a respectful kind boy. The memories  flow of basketball games. Pete was also the guy I could do basketball shoot around with or just play HORSE!!  Pete's daughters should know that your Dad was so respectful of the women in his life back in the 60's, when he was part of my life. Knowing Pete will always be a gift from God for me.  I am so sad for his family and friends. A great man has left but the memories live on.

Joan, Jennifer and Amy, so sorry to hear the passing of Pete.  He was such a kind gentle soul.  He always had a smile on his face.   I'll remember all the Pfizer dinners and outings Pete and Rich use to have  and   Joan and I got to tag along.  Pete loved his family and would do anything to make them happy.  Yes, Pete is gone from the physical world, but he will be watching and guiding you from heaven above.  My deepest sympathies to all of you and may Pete RIP.

I'm so sorry to hear about Pete.  Pete and I worked at Pfizer.  He trained me back in 1996.  I would always see Pete at the storage unit in the morning and we would trade the latest Viagra or Celebrex pens with each other.  I remember going to his retirement party and talking about the old times.  He will be missed. 

From the "Myrtle Beach Golf Group" , the tee toss will never be the same again. All will pale in comparison. We will miss you terribly leftie. Rest well.

I knew Peter through the recent sale of his mother's home.  Even though our relationship was limited to that transaction, I felt the deep connection that he had for his family and friends.  To me, it was clear the love and joy that Peter and his sisters Barbara and Nancy experienced in their family home.   We spent time reminiscing about growing up in Valley Stream and attending Wheeler Elementary School.  Even though I attended the school years after Peter, it was fun talking about sharing the same teachers and sharing similar stories of playing in Fireman's Field.  We joked about how his mom's 50's chic furniture was back in style.  Peter also shared that his sister Barbara and he  planned a golf outing this summer to reunite old friends and how, even though they had some rain, they had a great time and got to see everyone.  Peter was nothing but kind and cheerful every time I saw him.  I am truly saddened to see such a wonderful life and spirit leave us.   I offer my deepest sympathies to Joan, Jennifer and Amy, and to Barbara, Nancy and James.

Clam bakes, Luau's, basement parties for birthdays or Anniversaries or no reason at all, Sunday dinners at Nana & Pop Pop's, Easter photos in front of the forsythia bushes or someone's car, Newfound Lake & the sticky spaghetti.  So many cherished family memories reminding us of the "good old days".  Although we hadn't seen in each in years, these memories and so many more will always keep you close to my heart, dear sweet, caring, patient cousin Peter.  My deepest loving condolences on this devastating sudden loss to you Joan and the girls.  He will be sorely missed by everyone.
