Ace spent more than 35 years of his career working in the Government Contracts Service industry providing placement for our military Veterans. Ace started his career working on Federal GSA contracts in the Dallas Texas area and through the years continued to develop relationships in the field and built companies that provided contract services in defense, government and commercial markets. Throughout his long career he held positions in Project Management, CEO, to President of Government Services. Ace was the recipient of an award presented to him by Ability One’s Veterans Assistance Program under President Barak Obama for his dedication and work to help our Veterans with disabilities integrate into the workforce, combining recruitment, training, and relocation support to help them succeed in civilian careers.
One of Ace’s greatest passions was riding motocross which he enjoyed doing for more than 50 years and his Texas motocross family became like a second family to him. Ace loved his dogs and took them everywhere with him, including the racetrack so they too were part of that motocross family. In recent years Ace ‘s interest expanded to include riding in dual sport offroad events throughout the country and in 2021 and 2023, he participated in the Baja 1000 in a chase truck providing support for the South Point racing team. He was a lifetime member of the American Motorcyclist Association.
Ace was also a cancer survivor and understood very well the impact that cancer has on your life and because of that experience, he became involved with the Sunshine Kids Foundation, and he always looked forward to participating in the annual Pediatric Cancer Collector Ride. This was an annual event that provided children battling cancer with a break from the rigors of their cancer treatments and allowed them to just be kids for a day and ride in classic or just “fun” cars and Ace could always be counted on to provide rides in one of several Porsches he owned through the years. Ace loved that he could make them smile and give them hope that they too could beat cancer.
Ace is survived by his wife, Mary Suzanne Smith Burt; sons, Nicholas Brandon Burt and Spencer Austin Burt; sisters, Corinna Burt-Adcock and Cynthia R. Skov; and brothers, Daniel A. Burt and Angelo “Doug” Burt and stepchildren Joshua Daniel Furr, Jordan Furr, Ryan Kallfelz, Justin Kallfelz and Madison Jaster.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Celebration of Ace’s life will be held and announcement made at a later date.
