Arthur G. Parker passed from this earth, surrounded by his family, on July 2, 2019. Arthur came to Port Lavaca in the early 1950’s. After marrying Beverly Jo he went to work for her step-father, Charlie Deckard, as an apprentice electrician, and later became a licensed electrician. He wired many new houses in Port Lavaca and Victoria while employed by Deckard Electric and Patterson Electric. He started working for Alcoa in the 1960’s, retiring after 25 years.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly of the home; sons, Charles (Rebecca “Becky”) and James (Dorothy).
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Buddy; sisters, Mamie and Elizabeth and son, Arthur Gene.
Visitation will be Friday, July 5, 2019 at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home in Port Lavaca from 6-8 p.m. Services will be on July 6, 2019 at Richardson-Colonial at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Gardens.
