Cy was born August 1, 1948, in Victoria, TX, to Dr. John T. Rogers and Helen Elizabeth (Bettie) Estill. He graduated from Victoria High School in 1966. He attended Southwest Texas State University. His career in finance took him to several locations in Texas including Goliad, Corpus Christi, Kingsville and finally to Victoria. He became a loan officer at First Victoria National Bank in December 1979 and served that bank until retiring in August 2014. He returned to Port Lavaca to live on the bay where he was happiest.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Claudia Baker Rogers. He is survived by his two children, Cynthia Ann West (Randy) of San Antonio, Frank Thomas Rogers (Jeannette) of Tampa, Florida, and their mother, Carol Boehl Dunlap. Grandchildren are Frank Thomas Rogers, Jr. and Tyler Logan West. He is also survived by his siblings Linda Munro (Jim) and Grace Cook (Don) both of Port Lavaca. He would definitely also want mention of his beloved dog, “Boy.”
His enjoyment in life was being outdoors hunting, fishing, shrimping and just being on the water. Boats were his passion and he got to take an adventure of a lifetime sailing a yacht from Galveston to Guatemala. He was also a craftsman, building boats and furniture for his home.
He was a life-long member of Grace Episcopal Church, Port Lavaca, serving as acolyte in his youth.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home from 5-7 p.m. Funeral services will be Thursday, May 15, 2025 at 10 a.m. at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Port Lavaca Cemetery.
