Edwin "Buzzard" Anderle

Edwin “Buzzard” Anderle, 79, of Point Comfort, passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, in San Antonio. He was born in Shiner, Texas to Robert and Frances Janak Anderle on May 2, 1946. Buzzard worked as a Millwright for Alcoa for many years. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and served in the United States Marines.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a Sister-In-Law, Sue Anderle.

Buzzard is survived by his loving wife, Kathy Ellis Anderle, daughter; Sheila Janecka and her husband Edwin, son; Patrick Anderle and his wife Jodi, sisters; Diane Billings and her husband Mike, Caroline Burrier and her husband Jessie, and Shirley Dabbs and her husband Homer, brothers; Robert Anderle and his wife Rosalie, Anton Joe Anderle, Kenny Anderle and his wife Judy, Calvin Anderle and his wife Sharon, and grandchildren; Dillon Janecka, Brenna Anderle and Kyleigh Anderle. In addition, he also leaves behind numerous extended family and friends, all of whom will cherish his memory.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 23, 2025, from 5-7 pm, followed by reciting of the Rosary at 7 pm, all at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at 9 am at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Point Comfort. Interment will immediately follow at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery. Father Tommy Chen will officiate.

Honoring him by serving as Pallbearers will be Will Grubert, Sean Dabbs, Ronny Best, Arnold Townley, Glen Phelps, and Jonathan Medlin. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers are Dillon Janecka, Brenna Anderle, Kyleigh Anderle, Blake Shackleford, Bruce Boyett, James Woods, CJ Howton, and Jack Ellis.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in his honor to Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church, or VFW Post 4403 of Calhoun County.
