A passionate and dedicated hairdresser for 52 years, Irene was the owner of Hair Country. Hairdressing was more than her work—it was her calling, a craft and a tradition that has been passed down through generations. Through her hands and her heart, she helped others feel cared for.
Irene was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose family was the center of her world. She especially cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and her influence reached them in countless ways. A talented cook and gifted crafter, Irene created wreaths, woodwork, flower bouquets, and beautiful arrangements. Her granddaughters learned many of their own talents by watching and working alongside her.
Known as the leader and “boss” of her family, Irene carried herself with strength and purpose. She was also famously known as a shopaholic, and her sense of humor brought light to everyday moments. Funny and selfless, she consistently put others before herself, offering support, guidance, and love without hesitation. Irene will be remembered as a devoted and steadfast presence in the lives of all who knew her.
Irene is survived by her husband, Wesley Harborth; son, John Resendez; daughter, Monica Massey; sisters, Mary Joice and Julie Gutierrez; granddaughters, Lacie Resendez, Jennifer Flores, Destyna Lopez, Kristina Lopez, Eliana Resendez and Lillyina Resendez; and great-grandchildren, Ayzria Longoria, Cayleb Garcia, Aybreigh Longoria, Aniyah Flores, Jayston Longoria and Drew Flores.
She was preceded in death by her father, Juan Aguilar; mother, Julia Rendon Aguilar; daughter, Sheryl Resendez; and brothers, Rudy Aguilar, Raul Aguilar, Robert Aguilar and Gilbert "Gibby" Aguilar.
