James R. Snow 93 of Port Lavaca passed away January 30, 2013. He was born September 12, 1919 in Palo Verde, Arizona to the late James Deed and Elizabeth Thompson Snow. James served his country in the United States Army during WWII where he received the Good Conduct Medal and the Victory Medal. He was also a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. Snow was a retired shrimp boat captain for Priddy’s Oyster House.
He is survived by his daughters, Betty Madrak and husband Thomas J. of Port Lavaca and Virginia Linville Fulghum of Atascosa; sister, Mabel Snow Busby of Temperance, Michigan; brother, Alvin Snow of Boyce, Louisiana; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren. Mr. Snow was preceded in death by his wife Beulah Belle Snow.
A time of viewing will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2013 from 10 am to 4 pm at the Richardson Colonial Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at a later date at the Vanderpool Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers will be James Madrak, Dennis Madrak, Charles Fulghum, Phillip Fulghum and Bobby Schauer.
