Richard Torres passed away on June 8, 2017 at the age of 62. Richard was born February 17, 1955 to the late Faustino Torres and the late Sara Rojas Torres in Laredo, TX. Richard was a former King Fisher Marine Service Employee and a Catholic.
Richard enjoyed working on and driving older model cars and trucks. He was an avid fisherman and felt right at home sitting in his flat bottom boat out in the bay.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories his wife of 45 years, Diana Delgado Torres; daughter, Angelica Torres Guzman (Jesse); sons, Christopher (Lana), John Patrick (Alissa); granddaughters and grandsons; hero and lifetime mentor, step-father, Antonio Esparza Jr. Richard is also survived by sisters, Yolanda, Irma, Maria, LaLa and Sulema; brothers, George, Israel, Roger and Ruben Torres all of Port Lavaca and many nieces and nephews.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents; son, Richard (Richie) Torres II; grandson, John Patrick Torres II; sister, Alicia Villafranco and brother, Roberto Torres.
A time of visitation will be held Sunday, June 11, 2017 from 5-7 p.m. at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home with a rosary to begin at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be Monday, June 12, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home with burial following in Port Lavaca Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Chris Torres, John P. Torres, Jesse Guzman, Jenavie Guzman, Jordan Torres and Alejo Ortiz.
