She was born August 10, 1926 in Brownwood.
Virginia was a longtime resident and small business owner with her husband John Dumas. The inseparable couple owned Dumas Used Cars and Drop It & Lock It in Port Lavaca.
She was the spark in any room she entered. Her smile, laugh and pure joy of being around her family was contagious.
Virginia loved her family more than anything else. She was there for little events, big events and if she wasn’t there, she was sure to call or send you the best hand written card or letter.
She and John were members of the First Presbyterian Church of Port Lavaca. She was a woman of faith.
Virginia is preceded in death by her husband Johnnie “John” Elbron Dumas, parents William Henry Mobley and Evelyn Juanita Martin Mobley and great-granddaughter Alaina Barecky.
She is survived by her son Duwayne Dumas and wife Tisha, of Beeville; daughter Cathy Stapp and husband Paul, of Port Lavaca; brother Billy Mobley and wife Myrtle, of Stephenville; and sister Wanda Solley, of Stephenville; grandchildren, Chris Dumas and wife Jenny, of San Antonio; Jason Dumas and wife Cari, of San Antonio; Ashley Barecky and husband Aaron, of Port Lavaca and Ross Stapp and wife Samantha, of Port Lavaca.
Virginia is survived by nine great-grandchildren, Tyler, Dylan and Jordyn Dumas, Sarah and Lyndsey Dumas, Anna and Allison Barecky and Kenley and Rylee Stapp.
Visitation will be held Thursday, July 4, 2019 from 6-8 p.m. at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Friday, July 5, 2019 at 2 p.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Gardens.
Pallbearers are Chris, Jason, Tyler and Dylan Dumas, Ross Stapp, Aaron Barecky and Michael Mobley.
