

Gionfriddo, Amy Hagen 93, passed away November 14th 2012 in South Daytona Florida of natural causes. Amy, a Florida native, was born in Jacksonville, Florida in 1919. Married for 68 years to the love of her life Michael Gionfriddo in 1943, Amy was one of six children born to Lillian and Norman Hagen of Jacksonville, Florida.
Amy resided in South Daytona at the time of her death but had resided in Oahu, Hi., Jacksonville, Mt. Dora, DeLand, Sorrento, and Orlando Florida over the years. Remembered by her family as a loving, selfless, and incredibly kind woman her entire life Amy was a beautiful example of a woman who enriched the lives of those around her. Amy Gionfriddo was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, and aunt to a large family who will all miss her sorely. Her passing, while a huge loss for all of those who knew her is a wonderful event for her new heavenly family, and a consolation to all is the knowledge that her reunion with her loving husband Mickey marks the coming together again of two people who define the phrase soul mates.
Amy is preceded in death by her parents Norman and Lillian Hagen, husband Mickey, son Eddie, brother’s Norman, Bert, and Ronnie, and sister Betty. She is survived by her sister Carolyn Sullivan of Orlando, Grandson Michael-Paul Gionfriddo of Nebraska, Great Grandsons Salvatore and Angelo Gionfriddo as well as a large extended family all of whom loved her deeply and will cherish forever the memories, associations, and good times of knowing such an incredible woman. The world has truly lost a beautiful person.
Mrs. Gionfriddo will be interred with her husband in Arlington National Cemetery. A viewing and visitation will be held on Sunday, November 25 from 4-6 PM at the Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, 4815 Clyde Morris Boulevard, Port Orange. A memorial service will be held 2:30 PM Tuesday November 27, 2012 at First Presbyterian Church of Mount Dora, 222 W. 6th Avenue.
