

Daniel O. Feldschau, 88, of Port Orange, FL, passed peacefully from this life on February 23, 2017. Daniel was born on June 6, 1928 in Astoria, NY to the late Alfred and Jennifer Feldschau. Daniel served his country in the Merchant Marines and the United States Army as a member of the Military Police. Following his service he married his wife Gertrude on September 24, 1950. He then began a career as a hydraulic mechanic for Grumman Aerospace. His career took him to many different places including naval bases in Norfolk, VA and Mirmar, CA. Daniel retired from Grumman after thirty years of service. He relocated to the Port Orange, FL area from Northport, NY in 1993. Daniel enjoyed all kinds of woodworking and carpentry. He would always lend a helping hand to friends, family and church. Daniel loved boating, fishing and clamming during his time on Long Island. Daniel was preceded in death by his beloved wife Gertrude Feldschau and his parents Alfred and Jennifer Feldschau. Left to cherish Daniel's memory are his children Janice Meaney of Nesconset, NY, Joyce D'Esposito of New Smyrna Beach, FL and Judy Feldschau of Port Orange, FL, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A visitation is scheduled for Monday February 27, 2017 from 5:00 P.M. ~ 7:00 P.M. at the Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, located at 4815 Clyde Morris Blvd., Port Orange, FL 32129. A service to celebrate Daniel's life is scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Tuesday February 28, 2017 at the Port Orange Presbyterian Church located at 4662 S. Clyde Morris Blvd., Port Orange, FL 32129. The interment will follow the service at Volusia Memorial Park, located at 550 North Nova Road, Ormond Beach, FL 32174.
