Erin Swanson Schimp

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Erin Swanson Schimp, aged 55, who peacefully left us on June 23, 2025. A loving daughter, wife, sister, mom, friend, and stranger, Erin is remembered for her smile and kindness to anyone who met her.

Erin was born December 12, 1969, in Daytona Beach, Florida, and was the daughter of Edward and Joyce (Lyons) Swanson. She married the love of her life, Jeff, in 1992, and together they shared a life filled with love and joy. Together they volunteered countless hours supporting their daughter, Morgan, and the Daytona Beach Speed swim team at swim meets and fundraisers.

Erin is survived by her daughter, Morgan Taylor Starr, and her seven siblings, Joan Jones, Mike Swanson, Mark Swanson, Beth Brower, Robyn Trujillo, Sean Swanson, and Shannon Sukenik. Her family and friends will forever treasure her memory and the example that she set of love, kindness, and resilience.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home in Port Orange, Florida.
