

Jacqueline Hoy Dunlap, beloved wife, mother, and longtime resident of Port Orange, Florida, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2024, at the age of 85. Born on May 9, 1939, in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, Jackie leaves behind a legacy of love, devotion, and cherished memories.
Jackie is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, William Dunlap Jr., her daughter Karen (Mehemt) Balasaygun, her sons David (Sydney) Dunlap and Ken (Amy) Dunlap, and a host of grandchildren. She is preceded in death by Donna Dunlap Ebke. Jackie and Bill's love story began at a bowling alley in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and their enduring partnership was a testament to their deep affection and commitment.
A dedicated mother, Jackie poured her heart into nurturing her children and supporting their endeavors. She was renowned for her culinary skills, particularly her homemade desserts that were eagerly anticipated after every meal. Jackie's unwavering presence at her children's school and athletic events, especially swim meets, underscored her boundless support and encouragement. She also worked as an administrative assistant once her children were grown.
In 1994, Jackie and Bill relocated to Florida, where Jackie fully embraced the Sunshine State's offerings. She relished sunny days at the beach, cherished visits to Disney parks, and enjoyed leisurely weekends in St. Augustine. Her volunteer work at Grace Episcopal Church in Port Orange as an administrative assistant for over two decades highlighted her dedication to her community and faith.
Jackie found joy in simple pleasures such as swimming laps at the Port Orange YMCA, savoring the beauty of Ponce Inlet's beaches, and fostering friendships with neighbors along her street. Her compassionate nature extended to her love for animals, and she adored her dogs and cats throughout her life.
Jackie Dunlap will be fondly remembered for her warmth, generosity, and the love she shared with her family and friends. Her legacy lives on through the countless lives she touched and the memories that will be cherished forever.
