Lucretia “Pat” C. Heaton, 84, of Port Orange FL passed away at home September 26, 2025 surrounded by her family. Born in Lambertville, NJ to Edward and Mary Probasco, Pat was the youngest and only daughter, with three older brothers, of whom only Ralph survives. Pat and her late husband Donald moved to Florida in the mid 1970’s, settling in Oak Hill, where they raised their family at a local fish camp. Often known to tell her children “I can work circles around you kids any day!”, Pat’s greatest legacy was that of her children: Lucretia “Lou” who met her in Heaven, Yvonne (Chris) Brodie, Michele (Oakley) Solms, and Donald C. (Nikki) Heaton, along with 9 grandchildren – one of whom, Dustin, also greeted Pat upon her arrival, and several great grandchildren. Pat’s family also includes son-in-law, Mark, and her love and strength was felt by many of her grandchildren’s significant others and cousins who lovingly called her “Sweet Aunt Pat”.
Pat was a banker with Southeast Bank in New Smyrna Beach prior to its acquisition by Wells Fargo which then became Wachovia, staying with the branch for over 32 years prior to her retirement in 2024. A breast cancer survivor, Pat enjoyed crocheting items for her family – particularly blankets and sweaters, but loved spending time in the Maggie Valley, TN area, taking in the mountain air, various seasons, and of course - fishing.
In keeping with Pat’s wishes, no formal services will be held at this time. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you please consider a donation to the American Cancer Society or simply listening to the old hymns and Gaither Worship Band, as Pat was a believer and known to sway along with a simple smile on her face, knowing one day she would be reunited with those who have gone before us.
