I am sorry to hear of your loss and I hope you are doing okay.  I have often wondered how you were fairing and I am sure the  loss of Norman has been difficult for you. My wishes and prayers are with you.

Lydia. you may not remember me from Seguin, Texas. I worked at the Sonic. You both came to my wedding. I have thought of you many times and even came up with a phone number but never called. I am so sorry to know that Norman has passed away. He was the kindest man I ever knew with a great sense of humor. I treasure the memories I have of the time you both were a part of my life. God Bless You.

He was my dearest, loving, kind brother.  We had such good times together, beginning in childhood.  We mailed wonderful Christian stories back and forth to each other and promised we'd meet each other on the sea of glass in heaven.

Tomorrow we will lay my dear,dear husband's ashes in the ground. But he is so much more than just ashes. He is whole, he is healed and he is filled with the Love that is God. No more struggles, just victory! Full of joy and living in Glory, let's remember all this when we stand before that grave that cannot hold him on June, 22.
He is alive in the most important way any of us can hope for!

My earliest memories are of walking down the hill to the lake. Skipper and Cocoa would always go with us.  Uncle Norman was always the first one up.  Whenever you walked into the room, he would stop whatever he was doing and greet you.  I loved his smile.  I thought he was one of the smartest men I knew.  He had a way of making me feel good about myself. He had a very quiet strength about him.  I never heard him say a bad word about anybody.  Uncle Norman and fishing went together like chocolate and mayonnaise cake!!  He loved my Aunt Lydia the way a man should love a woman. They were very blessed to have each other.

Norman was a great guy, a wonderful father-in-law and he will be sorely missed.

I thought he was one of the coolest guys on the planet, and am proud to have called him my uncle!

I heard it said that God could take a sickness from a person or He could take the person from the sickness.  I am so thankful that my dear husband is free and complete. I will miss him for a long time to come,just like all of the rest of his family and friends.

Dear Lydia,
My dad was a wonderful, kind man and was so fortunate to have you stand by his side for so many years. He was the most humble, honest, generous and stubborn man I think I have ever known, yet he was so grateful for each day and maintained such a positive attitude. He was a devoted husband, friend, father and brother and was loved by so many. His presence is with us everyday and even though he is greatly missed, we know someday we will be together again. We love you...you are not alone, we are here for you today and all the days that follow. We love you dad!

I don't know you Lydia and I never met Mr Janssen but his daughter, Carla, is one of my most treasured friends.  She is an amazing woman so I know her father had to be an amazing man, as well.  My sympathies to you and all your family.

Norman you rescued me all those years ago. You were always there to guide me or lend a hand. You always taught with love... never rejection! You are also the best fisherman I ever had the pleasure of spending time with...time that will be missed and never forgotten. I love you Dad.

Strong willed, hard headed brother-in-law, who was right most of the time.  Spent his life doing good for others, now something good is being done for him. For the BEST uncle ever..... he was a friend, character, down-to-earth advocate that was a firm believer in what was right and in God's love.  I have things that he made or carved for me that I wouldn't part with ever.  He was a confidant, advisor, and genuinely cared about my boys and I.  We will miss you terribly, Uncle Norman.  Your eyes are truly opened now.  I love you.

Norman was the big brother a person could ask for. We spent many days fishing together, he taught me to bass fish. ait was his first love of recreation hobbys. Will miss him greatly.  Russell Janssen

Some of the best times with Norman were either fishing, playing canasta, just talking or worshiping the Lord. He was a great man and we were blessed to have him as our friend these past 35 or so years. We love you Lydia, and pray for the peace that passes all understanding to be with you.
