

William A. Hendrickson, 90, formerly of Port Orange, passed peacefully, Tuesday, May, 17, 2016 surrounded by his children at Indigo Manor, Daytona Beach, FL. William was born June 25, 1925 in Jamaica, N.Y. and has been a resident of Port Orange since 1982. He was the son of the late Alfred and Evelyn (Beykufer) Hendrickson. William a U.S. Navy veteran graduated from the American Academy of Mortuary Science and was a licensed funeral director in NY. He also worked for many years as a sales representative for Yellow Book until his retirement. He was the past Exalted Ruler of the Daytona Beach Elks 1140, life member of VFW Post 3282 and volunteered at Halifax Health Hospital Auxiliary for 21 years. William was also a member of United Presbyterian Church of Daytona Beach for many years. He was a sports enthusiast, and avid NASCAR Fan. Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Todd of Port Orange, Wade of Morganton, NC, and Glen of Port Orange; daughter, Gail of Port Orange; 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son Dean in 1980 and his wife Claire in 2014. Friends may call 10-11 a.m., Monday, May 23, 2016 at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home 4815 Clyde Morris Blvd, Port Orange. Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Westhampton Cemetery Westhampton, NY.
