It is with heavy hearts that we announce that our beloved mother, Barbara Becroft, has passed away, lovingly, peacefully and surrounded by family at her home at the age of 92. Barbara was predeceased by her devoted husband Clarence Thomas (Tom) Becroft. They had been married for 62 years, living and embodying the essence of a loving couple. Together they raised a beautiful family whose legacy of love and kindness continues.
Barbara was the mother of four children: Thomas (Jan) of Warren, Michigan; Steve (CarolAnne Hale) of Salem, Massachusetts; Karen of Port St. Lucie: and Donna Esse (Rick) of Eastvale, California. She had 8 beloved grandchildren: Tim Becroft (Karen), Christopher Becroft (Sara), Jamie Kingsbury (Andrew), Brandon Tanner (Julie), Brianne Tanner, Ryan Esse, (Grace), Ricky Esse, and Rachel Esse. She was also a cherished great-grandmother to Kevin, Ryan, Jason, Sharon, Aaron, Evelyn, Leland, Jimmie, Noah, Benjamin, Eden and Everett. Barbara also leaves a sister, Gloria Skorupski (Bob) of Commerce Township, MI, and many special people who remained close to her, including Cathy Becroft.
Barbara was born in Detroit, Michigan, and fell in love and married Tom at the age of 18. She was an adoring wife and a kind and capable mother. Together they raised their children in the Detroit area and moved to Jensen Beach, Florida as they retired. Embracing the warm life of Florida, Barbara and Tom spent many hours boating and Barbara enjoyed golfing, card playing and socializing with the many friends they made. Above all, they rejoiced in being surrounded by their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Barbara suffered a medical setback in 2015 and lived out her years under the loving and dedicated care of her daughter Karen and her granddaughter Brianne. Such devotion is remarkable – there was never anything that Barbara lacked. Helpful to the very end were her caregivers, Marcia Foster and Shernette West. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to these wonderful women.
Barbara was a beautiful, enchanting and sometimes delightfully sassy woman. She loved warmly and unconditionally and all who knew were entranced. Her hospitality, her warm wit and her twinkling eyes will be forever remembered, as will her dedication to family.
A visitation will be held on December 13th from 12 noon until 2 pm at Aycock at Tradition, 12571 Tradition Pkwy, Port St. Lucie, Florida. A service will follow.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that a donation be made in her honor to Treasure Coast Hospice, Stuart, Florida. (https://www.treasurehealth.org/292/Donate).
