Ben W Mason

Ben Mason, 95, of Port St. Lucie, FL, formally of Bettendorf, IA, passed away December 15, 2022 at Cleveland Clinic Hospital, Port St. Lucie, FL. A Celebration of Life is pending. Graveside burial will be at Davenport Memorial Cemetery, Davenport, IA.

Ben was born on October 11, 1927 to Phyllis and Clyde Mason in Ames, IA. He graduated from Ames High School and attended The University of Northern Iowa. He enlisted into the U.S. Navy and served in Alaska.

Ben was united in marriage to Virginia Valant on June 15, 1951. They were married for 64 years until Virginia’s passing in 2015.

Ben spent the majority of his working career in the sales field. He enjoyed playing games with family and friends.

Ben was loved by many, including his family, daughters Susan (Richard) Lipkowitz, Lexington, S.C., Janet Kettelkamp, Port St. Lucie, FL, son Curtis Mason, Denver, CO. Grandchildren, Bradley (Sonja) Lipkowitz, Kimberly (Michael) Payne, Matthew and Rachel Kettelkamp, Kaley Mason. Great grandchildren, Skylar and Cassidy Lipkowitz, Mason and Carter Payne.

Ben was proceeded in death by an infant daughter, Julie, two sisters and two brothers.
