Gary Oxman, of Port St. Lucie, Florida, died September 18th, 2020 at the age of 67 surrounded by his family. He was born in Brooklyn, New York on May 8th, 1953 to the late Julius and Roslyn Oxman (Breitling). He graduated from Canarsie High School, Queens College and received his DC at Life Chiropractic College in Marietta, Georgia.
Gary was a loving and devoted fiancé, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend to SO many.
Gary will be remembered as a little man with a big heart and strong character, that lived life to the fullest and never knew a stranger. He loved good food and travel, had a goofy sense of humor and strong beliefs. He was passionate about being outdoors biking and kayaking, gardening, and helping his patients feel their best for the last 38 years. Gary was active in his community as a member of Temple Beth El Israel (past president), PWP, Port St. Lucie Botanical Gardens, WWF, and the Canarsie High Reunion Group to name a few.
Gary is survived by his loving fiancé of 17 years, Sherry Posner, daughter Emily Layman (Andy Layman) of Fairmont, WV and son Carl Oxman (Gabbie Doughty) of Palm City, FL and 2 beautiful grandsons, William and David Layman. He is also survived by brother’s Lenny Oxman (Shari Oxman), Jay Oxman, nieces Corey Oxman (Brant Gabriel) and Megan Millican (Billy Millican), and great nephews Jackson and Ethan Millican. Gary will also be missed by Bari and Brian Snizek (Carter and Zachary), Brent and Stephanie Posner (Abigail), his former spouse Rebecca Oxman, many cousins and his great aunt Marcy.
