

James was born in Denver, Colorado to the late Jay Roy Stanley and Mildred Marie Hansen.
James joined the Military in 1966 and served in Army Aviation for 4 years. After being stationed in Germany for 2 years, James served in Vietnam for 1 year and received an Honorable discharge from the Military in 1969. Shortly after being discharged from the Service, James traveled to Long Island, New York, to visit his sister. While there, he met his wife, Lorraine. They were married in 1973 and shortly thereafter moved to Fort Lauderdale, FL. After living in Fort Lauderdale for 13 years, he and his family moved to Port St. Lucie, where he resided for the remainder of his life. He worked for many years as a heavy equipment mechanic as well as teaching Auto Mechanics at Coconut Creek High School in Broward County, FL for several years.
Among Jim’s favorite pass times were fishing with his children and restoring old cars. Being from Colorado, he was an avid fan of the Denver Broncos and never missed a game. His favorite quarterback was John Elway.
Jim is survived by his wife, Lorraine of 49+ years, his daughter, Lorraine Ragina Stanley, of Mechanicsburg, PA, his son, James R. Stanley, Jr, of Port St. Lucie, as well as 3 grandchildren, Vinnie, Sofia and Isabella.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday March 23, between 5 & 8 PM at Aycock Funeral Home in Tradition, Florida. The funeral will take place on Thursday morning at the funeral home at 10:00 AM, with committal to follow at Rolling Oaks Cemetery in Port St. Lucie.
