It is with deep sorrow and much love that the family of Ophelia McLean of Port Saint Lucie, Florida, announce her peaceful passing on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at the age of 86 years. She was predeceased by her mother and father, 5 sisters and 2 brothers, and will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by her 2 sisters, brother, nieces, nephews, numerous relatives, and friends, spanning several continents.
Ophelia was born in Jamaica, migrated to New York, and subsequently relocated to Port Saint Lucie, FL in 2000. She retired as a Certified Nursing Assistant and was an accomplished seamstress. Her hobbies were gardening and most notably sharing her culinary expertise with everyone she met. She loved Jesus and was an avid church-goer, recently as a member of Church of the Nativity. Ophelia enjoyed traveling the world, especially taking cruises. She was also an active member of the community volunteering at Sarah’s Kitchen of the Treasure Coast and the Port Saint Lucie Orchid Society.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, July 24, 2021, at Aycock at Tradition, 12571 Tradition Parkway, Port Saint Lucie, Florida 34987, with the service from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, 6026 North U.S. Highway 1, Ft. Pierce, FL 34936.
Memorial donations may be made in lieu of flowers to Church of the Nativity, 1151 SW Del Rio Blvd., Port Saint Lucie, FL 34953, or Sarah’s Kitchen of the Treasure Coast, 295 NW Prima Vista Blvd., Port Saint Lucie, FL 34983.
