

Mr. Butala was born in Homestead, PA. He had been a resident of Port St. Lucie for the past twenty two years coming from Munhall, PA.
He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a Bus Driver for St. Lucie County.
Prior to retirement, he worked 47 years as a Steel Worker for United States Steel in Homestead, PA.
Mr. Butala was a member of St. James of the Apostle Orthodox Church in Port St. Lucie, FL. He was a member of the Elks Lodge # 2823 in St. Lucie West, Assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 8, Assistant Chief of Troop 8 Indian Dance group in Homestead, PA, ARND of Homestead, PA, Clairton Sportsmen’s Club in Clairton, PA, Thompson Run Athlete Association, Founding member of St. Nicolas American Carpotho-Russia Orthodox Diocese of the USA in Homestead, PA.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Joyce Butala.
Survivors include his three sons, Stephen Butala and his wife Lori, Nicholas Butala and his wife Michelle and Joseph Butala; five grandchildren, Kristen, Cody , Darcilyn, Kaelyn and Rielyn.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm, Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at St. James of the Apostle Orthodox Church, 2201 SE Airoso Blvd, Port St. Lucie, FL 34984, Tel # (772) 873-2554.
Funeral Service will be held at 9:00 am, Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at St. James of the Apostle Orthodox Church, 2201 SE Airoso Blvd, Port St. Lucie, FL 34984. Burial will follow at South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth, FL.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made In Memory of “Steve Batula” to Treasure Coast Hospice, 1201 SE Indian Street, Stuart, FL 34997.
