Victor Russell Miranda

With humble hearts and a deep sense of gratitude for his blessed life, we announce the peaceful passing of Vic Miranda, at the age of 85, in Port St. Lucie, Florida, on May 22, 2024. A cherished soul, born in Buffalo, NY, Vic walked a path of integrity, love, and service, touching the lives of everyone he encountered.

At the age of five, Vic and his family relocated to Miami, Florida. Young Vic was always willing to help his family when needed. His mom and dad worked in the hospitality industry where he learned the value of hard work and its correlation to success. He was athletic and loved playing football, baseball and the shot put . As a star player at North Miami High School he earned a football scholarship to the University of Florida. Vic went on to play at the college level and received multiple awards for his natural athletic ability. The biggest opportunity that came from UF was when he met the love of his life, Sally Whitfield. He instantly knew she was the one and proposed just four months later. This was a true love story with over 61 years of marriage. Vic and Sally are forever soul mates. Mutual love and respect was the recipe for this successful partnership.

They enjoyed traveling to Italy, golf, watching the Gators play and socializing with friends and family. They loved Palm Springs, California where they spent time in the spring golfing. Through the years, their time with New York Life also provided incredible venues for meetings and award trips.

Vic's professional journey of over half a century with New York Life Insurance Company was marked by an unwavering commitment to excellence and stewardship. He served as a beacon of guidance and wisdom in his roles as Zone Vice-President for outstanding sales, Lifetime Chairman's Council Agent, and President of the Agents Advisory Council. His tireless dedication earned him a place in the Lifetime Million Dollar Round Table and the honor of leading NYLARC, the Agent Reinsurance program. Vic's impact was felt in every life he touched. His wisdom, kindness and integrity were the cornerstones of both his personal and professional interactions. He left an indelible mark on New York Life and will be remembered for his professionalism and impact on his clients and colleagues.

Vic's spirit was ever ignited by his passion for football. Blessed with talent and drive, he left a legacy at the University of Florida in 1957 as an All SEC-player and All-American Honorable Mention, earning the Fergie Ferguson Award for leadership. His induction into the Gator Greats Hall of Fame in 1987 was a testament to his gifts and gratitude for the sport. He served as President of Gator Boosters and was a dedicated Bullgator for over five decades. Vic's tenure is intertwined with the spirit of camaraderie and community. He was grateful for his time at the University of Florida and felt it paved the road for his success in business and life.

Vic's love for God's creation was evident in his joy for golf and the serene summers spent in the embrace of North Carolina's mountains where he led the Elk River Club as President for two consecutive terms with grace and leadership. Banner Elk is glorious in the summer and he looked forward to his time there with Sally.

He was an incredible father and grandfather, always setting the best example and loving his family so deeply. He will be remembered reverently for his commitment to his loved ones.

Vic will be greatly missed by all but his memory will continue on forever. He touched so many lives and we cherish the time God gave us with this bastion of light and love.

Vic is survived by his wife, Sally Miranda and his daughter, Toni Miranda Willson and son-in-law Brad Willson, grandsons, Nick and Victor Willson, his sister, Marie Dante and brother, John Miranda. Preceding him in death were his loving parents, Victor Jerry Miranda and Toni Anderson, and granddaughter, Jessica Miranda Willson.

The family entrusts Aycock Tradition in Port St. Lucie, FL, with the sacred task of arranging Vic's farewell. The celebration of his life will be a reflection of the reverence he held for every moment granted to him.

We bid farewell to Vic Miranda, a humble servant of the Lord, a pillar of strength, and a nurturing spirit whose memory will be forever cradled in the arms of divine love. Vic's soul will find eternal rest in the kingdom of Heaven.
