Anne E Penny

Portland – Anne Elizabeth Penny, 88, of Falmouth, passed away on February 19, 2012. She was born on August 6, 1923, in Portland Maine. The daughter of Mary Esther (Fitzgerald) and Edward H. Prindall, she attended Portland schools and was employed by W.T. Grant Co. and the State Theatre.

Anne met the love of her life Joseph Ray Penny of Raleigh, North Carolina and they married on October 2, 1944. They settled in Cape Elizabeth where they raised their three children. In 1966 the family moved to Highland Lake in Falmouth.

Anne enjoyed being around people especially at social gatherings. All who knew her will remember her humor and laugh. She was very fond of animals especially dogs and always had a “Treat” at the ready.

She was predeceased by her husband Joseph Ray Penny and her brother Edward E. Prindall. She is survived by her children Carolyn Chute and husband Michael of Parsonsfield, son Robert Penny of Cumberland, and son Michael and wife Lynda of Yarmouth, five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
