

Beverly Burbee Adams, 84, of Bath, Maine, formerly of Portland, Maine, died Monday, March 2, 2015. She was born in Westbrook, Maine on March 14, 1930, the daughter of Angus and Mae Burbee. She was married to Dwight Adams who predeceased her in 1995.
Bev graduated from Westbrook High School and went on to Gorham State Teachers’ College where she graduated in 1953. She went on to teach elementary school in Farmington, Maine and later at North School in Portland, Maine.
She then spent time raising her family and enjoying time at Forest Lake at her parents’ camp where there was always lots of summer fun. She also loved the Christmas holiday more than anything and spent much time shopping for it. Opening presents on Christmas morning became an almost all day event!
Later on in life she was employed at Sears Roebuck at the Maine Mall where she worked in the hardware department.
Her interests included shopping, doing crossword puzzles, and watching her favorite crime shows on T.V. She was happiest when spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Bev was a sweet, positive, kind-hearted woman who always took care of her family.
She is survived by her daughter Elizabeth Norton, of Brunswick and husband Chris, her sons Dwight Jr., and wife Denise of Lakewood, CO., Bill, of Old Orchard Beach, Joel, of Portland and Tom, of South Portland. She also has 9 beloved grandchildren: Michael, Patrick, Kendall, Jack, Kenny, Heather, Spencer, Dylan, Jessica, and one great granddaughter, Keegan.
Friends and family are invited to a time of visitation on Thursday March 5, 2015 from 4-7pm at Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home on Woodfords St. Portland, Maine. Funeral services will be held on Friday March 6, 2015 at 11:00am in the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church 580 Forest Ave. in Portland, Maine. Interment will take place later on in the spring.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Hill House Assisted Living Facility of West Bath, and the care they gave their mother. The nursing staff were especially wonderful throughout her stay, but especially in her last days.
