Carolyn Coburn

She was born in Portland, ME on September 4, 1928 the daughter of Reuben and Harriet Pierce McLean. She graduated from Deering High School as Valedictorian and National Honor Society before heading to Colby College and obtaining her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.

Carolyn married her husband Albert E. Coburn on June 29, 1956 and together they raised their family of four. She began her insurance career with Maine Bonding and Casualty Company and retired after 42 years as assistant regional manager for personal lines with Maryland Casualty Company. She was a member of the National Association of Insurance Women. Carolyn was a passionate fan of the Boston Red Sox and Celtics, rarely missing a game.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years Albert Coburn; her three sons Dana and his wife Debbie of Nashville, TN; Michael of Washington, DC; Terry of Portland; a son in law Joe Beaton of Everett MA; granddaughters Melissa Beaton and Jessica Beaton both of Malden, MA; grandson Christopher and his wife Kylee Coburn of Parkman, ME; and Jamey Coburn of Limerick, ME; Great Granddaughters Emma and Olivia Coburn of Parkman; and a great grandson Caleb Coburn of Parkman. She was predeceased by a daughter Susan E. Beaton in 2004.
