1961 - 2019
KENNEBUNK - Douglas R. Rioux, 58, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 15, 2019 at the Kennebunk
Center for Health and Rehabilitation. He was born in Biddeford on July 17, 1961 at the St. Andre Home.
He was soon after adopted by the late Roland and Virginia Rioux of Biddeford.
Doug lived in Biddeford for his entire life, attended local schools, and wherever he went everyone knew
him. He owned and operated Doug Rioux Sealcoating & Outdoor Services and employed many of his
friends over the years.
Doug suffered from the disease of addiction and was a committed member of the AA and NA programs.
He had a love for the outdoors, and always enjoyed spending his summers at Ossipee Lake with his sons
when they were little. His best friend in the world was his dog, Buddy. Doug couldn't be caught without
him, whether it be tying him to his truck at a job site, or joining him at meetings.
He is survived by two sons, Michael Rioux and his fiancé Haylee Cote of Mechanic Falls, and Marty Rioux
of Portland, his lifelong business partner; his cousin David Gately and family from Norwood, MA; and
one granddaughter, Sophia Rioux.
He was predeceased by his parents.

A memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, March 31, 2019 from 11am to 1pm at Jones, Rich & Barnes
Funeral Home. A memorial service will immediately follow at the funeral home at 1pm. Arrangements
