Margaret S Boghosian

Margaret Snyder Boghosian of Portland, Maine passed away on March 7, 2023, surrounded by family. A woman who lived by numbers, Maggie had a practical and kind outlook with a laugh and a smile as readily available as her recall of the Maine tax code. Maggie was a CPA through and through and applied a mathematical approach to most challenges in life. She passed on her wit, strength and determined spirit to her two sons, Jeffrey and Michael.

Margaret was born on February 19th, 1945 to Ralph and Ruth Snyder in Portland, Maine, graduating from Deering High School. She earned her undergraduate degree from University of Maine where she discovered a love of the arts and drama. She furthered her learning by earning her CPA license and also earning an MBA from University of Southern Maine.

In her professional career she served as a teacher in West Virginia and an accountant and controller for several businesses in New Jersey. She returned to Maine in 1995 working as a CPA, a finance director and then as a corporate auditor for the state of Maine. Maggie enjoyed her colleagues, traveling around Maine and learning about different businesses the agency oversaw.

After retiring she really enjoyed volunteering with the AARP Tax-Aide organization helping people do their taxes, spending time on HOA boards and spending time with friends and family. She will be greatly missed.

Margaret was predeceased by her parents, Ralph and Ruth Snyder. She is survived by her children, Jeffrey and Michael; her brother Stuart; her sister-in-law Patricia; her sister Lizzie; her daughter in law Lorraine and her two grandchildren, Anya and Brockton.

A private service will be held at a later date.
