

Scarborough, Maine- Pauline Bertha Beem Mangino Ingraham age 87 of Cumberland passed away February 28, 2016 after a brief illness. Pauline was born on October 2, 1928 in Castle Hill, Maine. She was a graduate from Presque Isle High School in 1946 and graduated from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in 1951. Pauline also graduated from Mount Carmel Mercy Hospital Dept. of Anesthesiology in 1952. Pauline received her nursing degree from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing and Mt. Carmel Mercy Hospital School of Anesthesiology. She worked at various hospitals in the Portland area as an RN and Anesthetist for 62 years. She also went back to school after raising her 6 children and received her Master’s in Nursing. She worked endless hours selflessly, always the graveyard shift to help others while raising her 6 children. She finally retired at the age of 82. She enjoyed spending time with her cats and dogs as well as her son Sam's 2 dogs, Lola and Stanley. She was a member of the Holy Martyrs Church in Falmouth for many years. She enjoyed spending time with all 6 of her children at various gatherings and watched her grandchildren grow up. She was also one of the first female pilots to fly a single engine airplane back in the 1950's and belonged to the single engine piper club called the “Wild Goose”.
Pauline was predeceased by her parents, Robert & Florence Beem, Brother Kenneth Beem, 1st
husband Samuel A. Mangino, and 2nd husband James Ingraham.
She is survived by her 6 children and 9 Grandchildren. Her son, Tom Mangino and
his wife Karen of Yarmouth, ME and their son Nicholas Mangino, a daughter Andrea
Montoni and her husband Richard of Great Falls, VA and their son Lucas Montoni,
a daughter Joan Hyndman of Hilton Head, SC and her two daughters Kelley Stearns and her husband B.J. Stearns and Yvette Simmons and her husband Daniel Simmons, a daughter Maria Mangino of Bangor and her two daughters Casey and Catey Bridges, a daughter Yolanda Mangino and her fiancé Daren Nichols of Minot and her two children Jessica and Matthew Taplin, and a son Samuel
Mangino II of Falmouth and his daughter Samantha Mangino.
She will be greatly missed by all.
Friends and family are invited to a time of visitation on Friday, March 4, 2016 from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. in the Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home 199 Woodford St. Portland, Maine. Catholic prayers will be said at 6:30 P.M. in the funeral home. A graveside service will be held in the spring at Blanchard Cemetery in Falmouth.
